Contemporary Hotel upon the sand and with local inprint
It is in the city of Lobito, with a historic integration with the Atlantic Ocean, that we propose the design of a 90-room hotel in Restinga. Functionally the ground floor concentrates the social areas (exterior and interior) in the center of the building, flanked by the service areas that simultaneously serve and protect the social areas. The floors of the rooms and the ground floor are separated by a platform that defines not only a formal separation between the public and private space, but also a whole landscape and wooded area for the exclusive use of the guests and that shades the ground floor and its areas social policies. The volumes that lie on the platform define the areas of the rooms (in a clear analogy to Lobito’s vernacular constructions), on two floors with 90 rooms.
