Urban Planner
OODA Architecture is currently looking for an Urban Planner to join our team in Porto/Lisbon:

 

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

— Degree and/or masters in Urban Planning or similar equivalent degree;

— 3 years of professional experience in the area of assignment;

— Managing small assignments / tasks within wider team;

— Good knowledge of planning legislation and planning policy;

— Experience in the preparation and submission of planning applications;

— Parametric design skills are a plus;

— Proficiency in Rhino is mandatory;

— Fluency in written and spoken English is required;

— French skills are a plus;

— International experience is preferred;

— Candidates authorized or with the possibility to acquire authorization to work in Portugal are preferred;

— Strong organizational skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

— The ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to take initiative in response to direction from managers.

 

 

Role and Responsibilities

 

— Performs professional work related to a variety of planning assignments;

— Prepare Physical layout plans for residential, Commercial, Institutional, Recreational, Industrial areas and Tourism Development plans;

— Conduct of Socio-economic impact assessment and Demographic studies;

— Develops / Reviews planning studies and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs, codes, regulations, policies and procedures;

— Acts as a liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers, and elected officials in developing neighbourhood plans;

— Work with and co-ordinate multidisciplinary teams;

— Lead on small to medium sized projects and take a lead role on specific elements of larger and complex schemes.
