Horizon with freedom and density
Inserted between land and sea, the hotel reveals itself longitudinally and horizontally according to the perspective of the Atlantic Ocean. The concept evokes the quality and diversity of a traditional and local dispersed settlement in the multiplication of spatial possibilities and capacities resulting from contraction and expansion of volumetric iterations. Its dematerialization and displacement provide a balance between larger scale with smaller docile scales compatible with the place. A recessed and shaded ground floor allows the sea and land to meet the desired and shared fluidity in the social uses arranged in freely ordered volumes under a slab responsible for the management and regulation of the intervention.
The rooms, contrary to circulations and infinite distributions not referenced in scale and image, follow this strategy of carefully selected composition and organization. Dense, the rooms are crowns of common logs locked and connected by vertical voids of illumination and ventilation. The image is urbanistic for the city and scenic for the beach. The cantilevering slab is limited by the seafront avenue but is amplified and organized with ludic uses that are lost in the ocean. The stated freedom is balanced with a materiality and modularity faithful to the structure and architecture of the construction, assuming the theme and balancing the whole. The diversity and the possibility of the occasional opening of the room windows triggers a mutation that is also language and landscape.
